A lit­tle about me: Though I have an exten­sive back­ground in play­ing brass among other wind instru­ments, my true love is elec­tric bass. After being a musi­cian for quite some time I received my oppor­tu­nity to take up bass. I truly believe it is a gift from God — so much so that I ded­i­cated my music to His pur­poses sev­eral years ago. Over the years I’ve picked up a vari­ety of instru­ments, formed bands, led bands, been a side­man for hire, and been a lead and back­ground vocal­ist, etc. My expe­ri­ence has cov­ered a wide range of styles.Â

Cer­tainly all of these expe­ri­ences have shaped me. Gen­er­ally I’m in at least 2 bands at a time, often in dif­fer­ent roles. If I need an extra cre­ative out­let I trans­form into my alter ego, Jay Arthur, and write music for var­i­ous purposes/groups. Fur­ther­more, due to my love for all things music, I teach bass and trum­pet, and serve as a wor­ship leader/associate pas­tor. There’s a pur­pose for the music, and we all need to be singing and play­ing along.
