A litÂtle about me: Though I have an extenÂsive backÂground in playÂing brass among other wind instruÂments, my true love is elecÂtric bass. After being a musiÂcian for quite some time I received my opporÂtuÂnity to take up bass. I truly believe it is a gift from God — so much so that I dedÂiÂcated my music to His purÂposes sevÂeral years ago. Over the years I’ve picked up a variÂety of instruÂments, formed bands, led bands, been a sideÂman for hire, and been a lead and backÂground vocalÂist, etc. My expeÂriÂence has covÂered a wide range of styles.Â
CerÂtainly all of these expeÂriÂences have shaped me. GenÂerÂally I’m in at least 2 bands at a time, often in difÂferÂent roles. If I need an extra creÂative outÂlet I transÂform into my alter ego, Jay Arthur, and write music for varÂiÂous purposes/groups. FurÂtherÂmore, due to my love for all things music, I teach bass and trumÂpet, and serve as a worÂship leader/associate pasÂtor. There’s a purÂpose for the music, and we all need to be singing and playÂing along.
